Kilburn Woods, North Yorkshire

27th December 2013 - a walk in Kilburn Woods, North Yorkshire

Distance: 2.39 miles

Duration: 1hr15mins
Alt Gain: 481ft

Starting from a small car park at the edge of Spruce Bank Wood just off the road from Bagby to Kilburn (off the A19) there are loads of tracks and potential routes to choose from but, due to the severe weather (gales gusting to 80mph) and a pregnant wife, the circular route that I picked for the walk was a short but enjoyable 2.4 miles.

Starting from the car park you pass the lake and then follow the graded logging tracks for most of the route, turning off onto marked tracks around two thirds of the way round to circle back around Hood Hill before picking up the main track again.

Due both to the length of the walk and fairly simple navigation on this walk I think that it's best left to the pictures to tell the story and save the rambling for a longer, more challenging, walk!

Logging tracks are well graded and hold up to the mud and rain well

A muddy (as always) but happy spaniel
